With a birdie-par finish, 36-year-old Bob Lendzion shot four successive 1-under-par 71s to win the 19th renewal of The PGA Club Professional Championship. Lendzion, head professional at The Quechee Club in Quechee, Vt., finished one shot ahead of Bob Betley, from Ogden, Utah. Former Tour player Dana Quigley of Barrington, R.I., was the third-round leader and gambled at No. 18 for what he thought would be a lead-tying birdie. He suffered a costly double-bogey instead. Quigley tied for third, two strokes back.
