Kirk Satterfieldd of Manhasset, N.Y., completed a memorable rally with a tournament record 6-under-par 66 to capture the TaylorMade-adidas Golf PGA Assistant Professional Championship at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

Satterfield began the round eight strokes out of the lead in a tie for seventh place. With an outstanding final round and consistent play down the stretch, he was able to claim the Championship title at 10-under-par 278, a stroke better than V.J. Trolio of West Point, Miss., who led throughout most of the Championship, but finished with a 75.

Satterfield’s front nine consisted of two birdies on holes Nos. 2 and 6. He continued his quest for the Championship once he made the turn by carding a birdie on hole No. 10. He put pressure on the leaders down the stretch once he made consecutive birdies on holes Nos. 15, 16 and 17.

Trolio entered the round three stokes ahead of the field at 12-under-par 204. His lead slipped away after a difficult round with several ups and downs.

On the back nine, Trolio carded birdies on holes Nos. 12 and 13 to hold his one stroke lead. After a bogey on hole No. 15, he regained the outright lead by making a 20-foot putt on hole No. 16 for eagle. The lead slipped away for good when he made a triple bogey on hole No. 17 and made a par putt on the final hole to finish his round with a 3-over-par 75 for a Championship total of 9-under-par 279.
