Jack Nicklaus scored a wire-to-wire victory with a 7-under-par 281 to beat Billy Casper, who birdied the last two holes to slip in front of Tommy Bolt. The victory made Nicklaus the first professional to twice conquer the Grand Slam of PGA, U.S. Open, British Open and Masters titles.
