Jack Nicklaus made PGA history by tying Walter Hagen for most PGA crowns (5) and winning by the biggest margin since the Championship switched to stroke play in 1958. With a 1-under-par 69 in the final round, Nicklaus posted a 6-under-par score of 274 for a seven-shot victory over runner-up Andy Bean.
