When the planned new national headquarters for The PGA of America and the accompanying golf courses in Palm Beach Gardens weren't ready for the ' 63 PGA Seniors' Championship, a move to Port St. Lucie CC, about an hour north on Florida's east coast, was arranged and hosted by M.R."Chick" Harbert, former PGA Champion and Ryder Cup Team Captain. There, two golf courses were available, and for the first time in PGA Seniors' history, the winner registered four sub-70 rounds. Herman Barron of White Plains, N.Y., won with a 16-under-par 272, two strokes better than John Barnum of Belmont,Mich.
