Jack Nicklaus led from start to finish, firing a 17-under-par 271, to win the 1991 PGA Seniors' Championship by six strokes over Bruce Crampton. It was Nicklaus' fourth win in six senior events since turning 50 in January 1990. It was the fifth time Crampton had finished runner-up in a major championship each time to Nicklaus. Crampton trailed Nicklaus by eight strokes after three rounds and was never closer than six, Nicklaus built a nine-stroke lead after a birdie and Crampton bogey on the ninth hole, and a 10-stroke lead when Crampton three-putted No.11, his second 3-putt in three holes. Nicklaus 271 was 10 strokes less than the previous tournament best on the Champion Course Site, host of nine PGA Seniors' Championships.
