Srixon PGA Tournament Series

The PGA Tournament Series debuted during the 1977-78 winter season to provide additional playing opportunities for PGA Professionals. It rapidly developed into one of the Association’s most popular member events. The tournaments are open to PGA members and to apprentices currently registered and in good standing in the PGA’s Golf Professional Training Program (GPTP). The 2006 season was the 20th in a row with the full schedule of events contested in South Florida. It attracted 683 PGA Professional entries (178 individuals) representing 33 states, while offering a combined purse of $206,999.98.

In 1996, the Series became the first PGA-sanctioned event to be held at The PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla., The PGA of America’s first owned-and-operated public golf facility. The PGA Golf Club hosted two Regular and two Senior Division events, and nearby PGA Country Club hosted one event in both divisions. The 2006 Srixon PGA Tournament Series schedule featured six events that combined players senior (over-50) and younger, and were hosted by one golf facility in Martin County and five in St. Lucie County.
