Srixon PGA Tournament Series
The PGA Tournament Series debuted during the 1977-78 winter season to provide additional playing opportunities for PGA Professionals. It rapidly developed into one of the Association’s most popular member events. The tournaments are open to PGA members and apprentices currently registered and in good standing in the PGA Professional Golf Management Program (PGA/PGM™).
The 2009 season was the 23rd in a row with the full schedule of events contested in South Florida. It attracted 350 PGA Professional entries (153 individuals) representing 30 states, while offering a combined purse of $126,500.
In 1996, the Series became the first PGA-sanctioned event to be held at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla., The PGA of America’s first owned-and-operated public golf facility. From 1987 through 2003, PGA Golf Club hosted Regular and Senior Division events, and nearby PGA Country Club hosted one event in both divisions.
The 2010 PGA Tournament Series will be conducted in November and December at sites in Port St. Lucie and Martin County, Fla.
