The McGladrey Team Championship

The McGladrey Team Championship, the first nationwide grassroots best-ball amateur championship conducted by The PGA of America, will mark its third year in 2009 with a new title and an enhancement to its format and a third consecutive return for the National Championship at Pinehurst (N.C.) Resort, October 26-28. Teams of four, three amateurs and one PGA Professional will compete at the National Championship.
In 2008, Stonebridge Ranch Country Club of McKinney, Texas, representing the Northern Texas PGA Section, finished with a 10-under-par 134 to capture title.
Stonebridge Ranch was led by PGA head professional Joseph Menton who was competing in his first national championship. Massena Golf and Country Club, representing the Northeastern New York PGA Section and Northern California's Windsor Golf Club, the 2007 runner-up, finished second and third respectively.
Open to golfers of all ages and playing abilities, the Championship is building traditions as the premier amateur event in the United States.
